ESPN3 Preview Show Caps Southland Social Media Day

first_imgHOUSTON — ESPN3 will stream the 2018-19 Southland basketball preview show Wednesday at 6 p.m. CDT, capping Southland Basketball Social Media Day at the Toyota Center. All 26 women’s and men’s head coaches are scheduled to attend, with the event running from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. CDT. Both the men and women begin their seasons on Nov. 6, while conference action first tips on Dec. 28. Basketball Media Event LineupWednesday, Oct. 10 – Toyota Center, Houston(All times Central) In addition to the initial Oct. 10 airing at 6 p.m. on ESPN3., archived video of each coach’s comments and select quotes from each attendee will be available after the conclusion of the event. Fans are encouraged to follow conference and team social media platforms throughout the day. Activities include: Media availability for each coach, including time for one-on-one interviews. ESPN broadcasters Carley McCord and Lincoln Rose sitting down for Q&As with each coach in the Houston Rockets’ visitors’ locker room. The ESPN3 preview show, available via ESPN.com/watch and ESPN apps, will be archived immediately following its initial airing. All 26 coaches participating in social media activities, which fans can follow on the @SouthlandSports Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. They’ll take part in a friendly shooting competition, which Emily Honeycutt will host on the conference’s Instagram Story. Each team’s account will also provide an in-depth look at their coaches’ participation. Deputy Commissioner John Williams, former men’s basketball head coach at Purdue Fort Wayne, will visit with each coach for segments that will run throughout the preseason on the Southland YouTube channel.The day will begin with comments from Southland Conference Commissioner Tom Burnett, now in his second year as a member of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee.
